iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR Smart Battery Case Launched by Apple

A long time after serving a similar experience to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s users, Apple has now brought the highly anticipated Smart Battery Case for the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. The new Smart Battery Case is claimed to extend the talk time up to 39 hours. Apple has provided a soft-touch silicone exterior along with a soft elastomer hinge design and a microfibre lining inside. The battery pack hidden within the Smart Battery Case can be seen from the protruding case. However, there isn't exactly a "hump" that got criticised in the past.

The Smart Battery Case for the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR come in Black and White colour options. As the prime aim of the case is to enhance battery life, it is touted to increase talk time up to 33 hours in case of the iPhone XS or up to 39 hours in case of the iPhone XR. The Smart Battery Case also supports iOS natively to offer you battery status on the iPhone lock screen as well as in the Notification Centre.

Apple has designed the Smart Battery Case in a way so that users will be able to use the available Lightning port either for wired charging or connecting their headphones. Also, there is support for Qi-certified chargers. This means you can wirelessly charge the new Smart Battery Case using a compatible wireless charger. Alternatively, you can opt for fast charging using USB-PD compatible chargers.

The Smart Battery Case for the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR with a price tag of $129 (roughly Rs. 9,200) is already available for purchase in the US. However, the India price and availability details are yet to be revealed.

Apple originally brought the Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s back in December 2015. That case had a hump that gained some critics. Apple CEO Tim Cook had even defended the hump design by specifying that the accessory wasn't meant for daily use.
