HDFC Bank has just taken down its new mobile app for Mobile Banking services from the Apple App store and Google Play store. This move comes right after a number of users started complaining about issues while logging in to the new app right after its launch.

In a statement to its users, HDFC added that it is “working to resolve” the issues “on priority”. According to initial reports about the issue with the app, users were not able to access the services provided by the app for “this entire week”. The bank issued a response on its official Twitter account while apologizing about the issues.

According to the statement, users who have an earlier version of the app installed on their smartphone can continue to use the app. However, users who have deleted the older version and moved to the new version of the app “will not be able to use MobileBanking til further notice.” HDFC also suggested users make use of netbanking facility along with other apps and services including PayZapp, PhoneBanking, and even Missed-Call Baking so that they can access their bank accounts.

Talking about fixing the issue, HDFC added that “it is taking” the bank “longer than anticipated”, and it is “confident” that developers will be “able to fix the issue at the earliest”. According to the announcement thread on Twitter, some HDFC users also reported issued with netbanking while trying to access their bank accounts.

Earlier, HDFC had claimed that the new app will come with more security options including support for Face ID in the new iPhone devices. It is unclear about the timeline of the repair or when we can expect the company to release the fixed version.
